Call for Papers: Bioinspired Materials
Special Issue: Bioinspired Materials
Science & Technology Journal (STJ) invites submissions for a special issue focusing on materials inspired by biological structure and function. We welcome high-quality work that advances fundamental understanding or demonstrates clear technological impact in energy, environment, health, or manufacturing.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Biomimetic polymers, hydrogels, and elastomers
- Bio-derived/biogenic nanomaterials and nanocomposites
- Biomineralization and bio-templated synthesis
- Functional/anti-fouling coatings and hierarchical surfaces
- Bioinspired membranes, catalysis, and separation technologies
- Soft robotics, stimuli-responsive and self-healing materials
- Green/sustainable processing routes and life-cycle benefits
Article types: Original Research Articles and Short Communications (Reviews by invitation only).
Submission window: Sept 1 – Nov 30, 2025. All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Typical time to first decision is 2–4 months; accepted papers are posted online within ~15 days after acceptance. This special issue is open access.
How to submit: Please follow the Author Guidelines and submit via the online system. For queries, use the Contact page. When submitting, please choose the section ‘SI: Bioinspired Materials — Research Articles’
