Special Issue: Bioinspired Materials

Science & Technology Journal (STJ) invites submissions for a special issue focusing on materials inspired by biological structure and function. We welcome high-quality work that advances fundamental understanding or demonstrates clear technological impact in energy, environment, health, or manufacturing.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Biomimetic polymers, hydrogels, and elastomers
  • Bio-derived/biogenic nanomaterials and nanocomposites
  • Biomineralization and bio-templated synthesis
  • Functional/anti-fouling coatings and hierarchical surfaces
  • Bioinspired membranes, catalysis, and separation technologies
  • Soft robotics, stimuli-responsive and self-healing materials
  • Green/sustainable processing routes and life-cycle benefits

Article types: Original Research Articles and Short Communications (Reviews by invitation only).

Submission window: Sept 1 – Nov 30, 2025. All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Typical time to first decision is 2–4 months; accepted papers are posted online within ~15 days after acceptance. This special issue is open access.
